The Annapurna Base Camp trek is one of Nepal’s most iconic and rewarding hiking adventures, offering stunning views of the Himalayan giants, diverse landscapes, and rich cultural encounters. Perfect for both beginners and seasoned trekkers, this journey takes you deep into the heart of the Annapurna region, where natural beauty and local hospitality come together in unforgettable ways.

Day 1: Arrival in Pokhara

Arrive in the beautiful lakeside city of Pokhara (820m). After hotel check-in, you’ll meet your trekking guide for a briefing. Use this day to relax by Phewa Lake or explore the vibrant lakeside markets.

Optional: Arrival in Kathmandu can be arranged if needed.

Day 2: Drive to Nayapul & Trek to Ghandruk (1,940m) – 5 hrs

After breakfast, we drive to Nayapul (1.5 hours) and begin our trek to Ghandruk, a charming Gurung village known for its traditional houses and stunning views of Annapurna South and Hiunchuli.

Day 3: Trek from Ghandruk to Chhomrong (2,170m) – 5 hrs

The trail climbs steadily to Chhomrong, a beautiful village at the foot of the Hiunchuli peak. Enjoy panoramic views of the Machapuchare (Fishtail) peak throughout the trail.

Day 4: Trek from Chhomrong to Dovan (2,600m) – 6 hrs

Descend to the Chhomrong Khola and then ascend through lush forests and bamboo groves. We pass Sinuwa and continue to Dovan, where we stay overnight amidst dense forest.

Day 5: Trek from Dovan to Deurali (3,230m) – 4 hrs

Today’s trail follows the Modi Khola River, passing through mossy forests and waterfalls. You’ll notice the alpine vegetation change as we gain altitude.

Day 6: Trek to Annapurna Base Camp (4,130m) via Machapuchare Base Camp (3,700m) – 6 hrs

This is the most awaited day of the trek! From Deurali, ascend to Machapuchare Base Camp (MBC), where the views open up dramatically. After lunch at MBC, continue to Annapurna Base Camp, where you’re surrounded by giants like Annapurna I, Baraha Shikhar, Tent Peak, and Hiunchuli.

Stay overnight at the base camp to enjoy a magical sunset.

Day 7: Trek Back to Bamboo (2,310m) – 6 hrs

Wake up early for a glorious Himalayan sunrise. After breakfast, begin descending through the same route and spend the night at Bamboo.

Day 8: Trek to Jhinu Danda (1,780m) – 5 hrs

Descend to Jhinu Danda, a popular stop known for its natural hot springs. A perfect place to relax your sore muscles.

Day 9: Trek to Nayapul and Drive Back to Pokhara – 6 hrs

After breakfast, descend to Nayapul, from where we drive back to Pokhara. Spend your evening at leisure—celebrate your trek with a lakeside dinner.

Day 10: Rest Day in Pokhara

Optional sightseeing or adventure activities like paragliding, ziplining, or boating. Pokhara is a paradise for post-trek relaxation.

Day 11: Departure

Transfer to airport or onward travel arrangements.

Best Time to Trek Annapurna Base Camp

The best season to trek to Annapurna Base Camp is during:

Avoid the monsoon season (June–August) due to slippery trails and leeches. Winter (December–February) is possible but cold with snow at higher elevations.

Annapurna Base Camp Trek Difficulty

The ABC trek is considered moderate. You’ll be walking 5–7 hours a day on varying terrain, with the highest altitude at 4,130 meters. No prior high-altitude trekking experience is required, but good physical fitness helps.

Prepare with light cardio, hiking, or stair training. Always listen to your body and communicate with your guide if you feel any symptoms of altitude sickness.
