The Mardi Himal and Annapurna Base Camp Trek is an unparalleled Himalayan odyssey that secures the calmness of the Mardi Himal route against an amazing backdrop of Annapurna Base Camp. Enrolling in the trek will provide you with the taste of lush rhododendron forests, traditional villages, and high-altitude landscapes for the right dose of adventure flavored with culture.
Beginning from Pokhara, the trek ascends gently to Pothana and Deurali and then heads on to the sequestered Mardi Himal Base Camp. This lesser-known trail offers magnificent sights: the Machhapuchhre, Mardi Himal, and Annapurna South. After exploration at Mardi Himal, the trail descends to Chhomrong, where it joins the classic Mardi Himal and Annapurna Base Camp Trek.
Concomitantly, the “Annapurna Base Camp” trek presents a marvelous vista along the descent, a bamboo forest, and ridges leading towards the site of really “Annapurna Sanctuary.” On top of that, reaching ABC rewards you with views of Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, and Machhapuchhre popping over the glacial valley. For the trekking journey, this part of Mardi Himal and Annapurna Base Camp Trek (15 days) gives a fresh and enduring view of the Himalayas at a close distance.
This trek is best undertaken in spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) when the days are usually clear and the views of the mountains are amazing. The trek is moderately difficult, requiring good fitness levels for the uphill climbs and high-altitude trekking. The trekkers need to obtain permits such as the TIMS Card and Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP) before starting their travels.
Accommodations are provided in teahouses along the way, where a generally decent standard of comfort and a selection of indigenous and international cuisine are offered. Among the trek’s highlights is the opportunity to witness the warm hospitality of the Gurung and Magar communities. The trek winds down with a visit to Jhinu Danda, conceivably the perfect social experience to end with a great adventure with a dip in natural hot springs.
Mardi Himal and Annapurna Base Camp Trek is the best option for trekkers desiring a different blend of peaceful, less traversed trails and the well-renowned Annapurna Base Camp trek. It provides the most incredible mix of adventure, culture, and the stunning Himalayan vista, rendering it one of the most rewarding trekking experiences in Nepal.

Please note that at higher altitude and in colder seasons there is rare chance to have enough hot water for all the trekkers. If the water is frozen then ask your guide to get warm bowl of water. Toilets are usually Asian squat style and vary in how clean they are. Normally toilets are outside the lodge but now some lodges have attached or indoor toilets. The rubbish bin in the toilet is kept for your used toilet paper.
